Are you a new graduate or professional looking to polish up your resume? PEO York Chapter presents an interactive resume writing workshop to give attendees the skills they need to craft and critique their own resume. This workshop provides step-by-step instructions on how to write and organize a resume with the perspective of the hiring employer in mind. The workshop aims to provide tools to craft a clear, concise, and effective resume.
The workshop will cover the following topics:
• How to structure your resume
• Writing about your experience
• Visual design and formatting of your resume
• LinkedIn - virtual self-marketing
The workshop will be interactive and may involve discussions in small groups. Attendees should have a working microphone if they wish to get the most out of the virtual workshop.
About the Speaker:
Sharon Chen is a professional with over 3 years of working experience within the consulting engineering industry. She is currently a designer (EIT) in the water and wastewater group at WSP Canada. Sharon is the current Awards and Recognition Director at PEO York Chapter. She is active in the York Chapter, volunteering for various committees including the Diversity and Inclusion, Communications, and Symposium committees. She was the 2019-2020 Communications Director for the York Chapter. She graduated from the University of Waterloo environmental engineering with a co-op program in 2018. She aggregates her 5 years of experience in resume writing with other directors within the chapter to develop this resume writing workshop.
