Demystifying the PEO Licensure Requirements – Academic and Experience

Date: Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 6:00 p.m to 8:30 p.m (EDT)

Location: Courtyard by Marriott, 65 Minthorn Blvd., Thornhill, Ontario, L3T 7Y9

Registration: TBD

Join our PEO volunteers (who actively participate in Experience Requirements Committee activities including candidate interviews for licensure) as they Demystify the PEO Licensure process.

  1. Licensure process before and if it ever goes through both committees for both CEAB and non-CEAB candidates
  2. What to expect before coming into interviews
  3. How to prepare for the interviews
  4. The process during the 1-hour panel interviews
  5. Criteria for experience and what the panel looks for
  6. Variations (if any) amongst the disciplines – Electrical/Computer/Software and Communications Infrastructure, Mechanical/Automotive, etc.

As part of the process, the seminar will cover what PEO staff, what the Academic Requirements Committee (ARC) volunteers and what the Experience Requirements Committee (ERC) volunteers do as part of the candidate’s licensure evaluation including Experience Summary Evaluations, and Candidate interviews for Academic and Experience Requirements towards the path for PEO Licensure.

The seminar will provide a good understanding of the process so that PEO licensure candidates understand how to be well prepared for each part of the PEO licensure process. We will follow the seminar for mock interviews for both Academic and Experience requirements in front of the group (as time permits), so candidates can get a better idea of what to expect throughout the licensure process.

We are seeking one or two audience members - especially in one of the engineering disciplines of mechanical, electrical, computer software or environmental engineering - who wish to volunteer to be interviewed in front of the group. The ideal participant is a candidate who needs to prepare for meeting one of the Academic or Experience requirements for licensure but is open to accepting direct feedback in front of an audience on their approach, so that it may benefit the entire audience.

This seminar is a free event, but space is limited.
