ng 01Kermit the Frog once said, "It's not that easy bein' green." Although he wasn't referring to cars, his observation seems particularly appropriate for the auto industry today: Designing, developing and marketing "green" cars has not been an easy task, which is why gasoline powered vehicles still rule the road and fossil fuels still account for almost 75 percent of the world's energy consumption.

The convergence of low cost, stably priced natural gas with next generation engine and fueling systems has created a renewed interest in natural gas vehicles (NGV) in Ontario, North America and the world.

After attending this session, you will be able to describe:
• Natural gas safety
• The Difference between compressed natural gas (CNG) & liquefied natural gas (LNG)
• Which vehicles are best suited to operating on natural gas
• Available NGV engine technologies & fuel storage technologies
• Types of NGV refueling infrastructure
• The history and regulation of NGV in Ontario
• The environmental, economic and competitive benefits of NGV
• Trends in the NGV market
• Enbridge Gas Distribution’s NGV program

ng 02Ritch Murray, MBA, P.Eng. was appointed Manager, Natural Gas for Transportation (NGT) Strategy in March 2014.
