Automotive Centre of Excellence - Wind Tunnel Tour
Friday, February 26th, 2016 - 2pm
Location: University of Ontario Institute of Technology
Fee: $10/pp (Please carpool or take public transit, parking is avaiable)
Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) is a fully independent facility owned and operated by the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) in Oshawa. ACE is the first testing and research facility of its kind in Canada, and in many respects, the world. As a result, we are generating interest from people representing a broad range of sectors, including all automotive sectors and manufacturers, aerospace, transit, national defense, green energy, competitive athletes and the movie industry.
They like the fact that they can work, test and validate their products using a $100 million tool that is truly independent, highly secure and operated by a team of top notch engineers and technicians. ACE features a one-of-a-kind Climatic Wind tunnel in addition to four other full-size full feature test chambers and industrial workspace that allow for climatic thermal development, aerodynamic flow visualization, structural durability and lifecycle testing on vehicles or component parts. It’s also a place where Industry can collaborate with world class experts and researchers for collaborative Scientific Research and Engineering Development projects.
Open to members, their family (children over 12) and friends.
The price of the tour is $10 per person and sign up each individual separately for security purposes. The UOIT campus map can be found here to assist you with finding the ACE. Parking is at Founders Lot 3 but is expensive so carpooling to the parking lot is offered if there is interest.
