Engineering in the Classroom
Would you like to help bring the excitement of technology and engineering into the classroom?
The Engineer in the Classroom (EIC) program brings engineers into York Region elementary school classrooms and brings real-world experience to the teaching of science, technology and mathematics. It helps students see the connection between what is being taught in school and its applications in industry and everyday life. The program provides insightful answers, complete with concrete examples, to the questions that all students ask, “Why do I have to know this?”
As a member of the PEO York Chapter, you are invited to partake in an exciting opportunity to develop the minds of future engineers of Canada.
We are seeking volunteers who can arrange a class visit with a teacher who has requested help with a specific topic. We will pair up engineers with teachers based on their location and area of interest. EITs are welcome.
